Enjoying a Becks

Facebook 30 March 2015Packed up and ready to go.

Enjoying a Becks after the Gig last night at the Sarah Thorne Theatre, Broadstairs.

Thanks to Michael & Jay for the lights & sound & to the wonderful audience who sang their hearts out.

John Renbourn

John RenbournI am devastated by the news of John’s passing. I met him in the early sixties when he was an art student in Weybridge. We played a lot of music together performing in Norway, Ireland and the UK.

He taught me how to “Claw Hammer” on the guitar (the finger style I now play). His beautiful music is on several of my albums.

I was hoping to tour with him, but now that will have to happen in heaven.

Memories of the times we spent together come flooding back. John, I send you love on your magnificent journey!

The Forge, Basingstoke

The Forge, BasingstokeThe Forge, BasingstokeLast Saturday night at the Forge in Basingstoke. It was great to play this lovely venue again. We were well looked after by Kim and Rumble. Here I am just about to sing TABU.

(Right) With friends after the show – Carol, Jude, John, Julie, Mary and Jenny.

Mother’s Day

Mother's Day

On Mother’s Day I played in Walthamstow. I was delighted these four young women came along. I met them last summer at the New Forest Folk Festival. It was the first time they had heard me sing. This time they knew all the words to all the sing-alongs! A great night.

Goodbye, John Hopkins

With John Hopkins

Last Friday I attended the funeral and memorial gathering for John Hopkins. I feel blessed for having known Hoppy. He was such a bright spirit and touched so many people on his journey through life. He was an inspiration and guiding light to all of us who were a part of the 60s revolution. He brought energy and joy to those amazing times. He shall be deeply missed.

Ice Skating!

Ice Skating December 2014

Julie went ice skating last week, at the rink in front of the Natural History Museum in London.

She said later: “First time I’ve been on ice skates in 30 years. And I didn’t fall. Thank the Goddess!!!”
